Montessori is not a curriculum--but there are curricular strands that go from concrete to abstract and then to higher-order thinking and complexity. Particularly, it is not a curriculum that can be mapped or planned because the child must have freedom to explore the network, the web of interrelated ideas that make up Cosmic Education. Montessori education is more like a web and the child, like the spider, can weave this web, which is himself, from any direction and make his knowledge understanding, empathy, gratitude, and compassion more complex, stronger, and more beautiful.
